I feed them to my chickens and they turn them into eggs Seriously though, as I live on my own I always cut my fresh baguettes in half and put the other half in the freezer, when defrosted they are lovely and fresh again.

We use our stale 'barras' ( baguettes) for making bread crumbs, much nicer than packet breadcrumbs and we mix a little sage and onion stuffing with the breadcrumbs, perfect for chicken kiev or pork escallopes... How much are baguettes in France now ? Cheapest here in Sunny Spain is 4 for 1 euro, although we buy the integral ( wholemeal)at 50 cents each.... Regards, GG

Mix crushed garlic with butter and chopped parsley, slice baguette nearly all the way through into slices, spread between with the butter, wrap in foil and freeze for when you have a bbq. Mmmm yummy.
