Went to see the emptying of Lac Guerledan 3 weeks ago and again to day - heres some pics of the progress - soon anyone who wants to go will have to park up a few miles away and go on a coach, so if you you want to go alone, do it soon. but first a question - what is this? there were 2 - one horozontal and another vertical. This was the lake 3 weeks ago

Ali - I believe that the fish have - as far as its possible - been moved until the water is put back - they did that in st launeuc (22) although it was a smaller lake

There is an article about what is going on in the April edition of the Cideral magazine & if you go to www.lacdeguerledan.com there is more info, including a map. The roads & car parks are not all closed however they have made some of it one way to ease traffic flow - there still seem to be a few car parks at the edge of the lake accessible you just need to find the right road in - not as easy as it sounds!!! Having seen some photos from a previous emptying they still have a little way to go but it should be interesting to have a look at. Lovely pics by the way! Mrs FG xxx

I believe individual access is due to be restricted at the end of the month - you will have to park some way away and get the busses provided - there will be a one way system.
We are going again next week - I believe he canal is now just starting to appear in places - so will post some updated piccies.
