Last night had Monica Galetti on BBC 2 at 21.00 visiting the Jura region of France and if you missed it try to watch it via the internet or however you techno folk do it. It was the best TV I've watched in years! The views were to die for, the French themselves were shown to not be the dour folk most English think them to be and the food! I was drooling! I've seen this lady on other programmes and always thought her an overbearing and self important lass. This programme showed her other side (out of her kitchen and comfort zone) and she was genuinely fazed when butchering a still warm boar she had witnessed being chased and killed by having it's throat cut. Well worth a view. Back in Brittany we are going to look for the cheeses she showed and will try some Jura recipes!

Totally agree. It was superb. The whole episode was excellent from start to finish. I've always liked to watch Monica, she's a tuff cookie. Loved the bit about the bark around the cheese!
I think the other week Argentina was featured? Same series?

Love Monica.....but slaughtering a boar....will give it a miss You don't actually see it either slaughtered or cut up!!! Well you do see the carcass being divided up but that is just like being in a butchers shop.

I saw it, excellent programme. I spent a year of my life as an au pair in a village near to Ferney Voltaire, just under some of the Jura range. Lovely place :-)
