It was originally named CrapCleaner but went PC. It removes unwanted files and registry entries and generally tidies things up. I've used it from it's Crap days to tidy my computer up. Never had a problem. However, I've never heard of it being so intrusive to get you to use it!

I have been using this for years, recommended by three of my geeky computer friends, it does a good job of cleaning rubbish out of the hard disc, and regularly asks you to update the program to ensure the latest info for the site is loaded.. It is a free download. It is not a virus checker or a firewall, it just removes unused bits of info on your disk and for example removes the tons of rubbish which sit on the hard disk as temporary files.
Good stuff
