Just to explain my wiffy wifi. When we bought this house, looking at the photo, the wall next to the small door was a cubby hole with a shelf in it for a telephone. Consequently the BT master socket was on the main wall a couple of feet to the left of the front door. The small door led to a cubby hole for hanging coats in. Attachment DeletedFast forward a few years and our daughter Simone started the teenage thing of spending hours in the bathroom/loo. We looked into moving into a larger house for two loos but it would have cost us, in 1979, £7,000! So we had the cubby hole etc converted to a downstairs loo for £600. Unfortunately the BT master socket was now under the foul pipe and the connections to the cabling tended to get corroded. Fed up with this I sealed the socket off and had the cabling extended into the hall and a special socket fitted that removed the need for ADSL splitter filters. Above this hallway is a small bedroom that is now used as an office containing our desktop computer. So it was very easy to run the Ethernet cabling for the internet through the toilet ceiling. Taking note that the preferred way is short telephone cable and long Ethernet cable that is what I’ve done. Attachment DeletedI’ve put a spur from the ring main into the toilet for modem power. It was previously on an extension cable round the front door etc. Also I’m getting a new telephone cable 2 metres long and a new CAT 6 ethernet cable because the present one is very old CAT 4 and 15metres long. It only needs to be 3 metres long in reality. The modem can then be placed tidily on the windowsill. Attachment Deleted

As this photo shows it is bloody small! If you have creaky knees or are over 6' you are better off upstairs! Attachment Deleted
