The boy has been with us for nearly 8 months, where has that time gone? He is a good boy mostly! Obedient when he feels like it, a bit willful, absolutely chock full of energy, and besotted with my OH.He seems happy to spend hours watching the progress on the Man Cave,( a small building in the garden being rescued and turned into a hobbies room AKA Man Cave!) He has the occasional loopy charge round with his latest favourite bit of wood in his mouth and comes in to see what's going on every so often. We have got over the problem of him scratching the kitchen door every 20 mins throughout the night............he sleeps in the living room now,on his cushion, with a grid across the stairs to stop him coming up,a solution we are all happy with. He goes to bed at approx 11pm and is quiet till 8.30am,pretty good I reckon. I have joined the Cockapoo Club and have learnt a great deal about them from that. They are high energy, quite needy dogs, with masses of energy. A bit labour intensive to keep groomed and perpetual dirt magnets. Their coat attracts every seed and bit of grime around. Fada is cream with apricot bits, well he is after a bath, but mostly is a dirty grey with specks of black! He is quite the most adorable, loving dog and I would love another. I haven't come across one so far, masses in the UK, but not here. I don't want a puppy, especially after reading of sleepless nights and chewed furniture! I do wonder if Fada would be jealous so maybe it's good that I haven't found another?

I am glad to hear Fada has settled in so well. He sounds a little like Monty my bichon who I rescued 5 years ago. I can't believe my Collie has just turned two already. He is just as mental as ever and has boundless energy and an uncanny nose for mischief but I love them both.

So pleased to hear Fada has settled down for you.A lucky chap indeed to find such understanding owners.

Have you thought about those dog socialising groups - there seems to be few about - perhaps that would give you some insight as to whether Fada would take to having company or prefer to stay and 'only child'.

He desperately needs socialising but not with lots of dogs. We made that mistake with our dog anti social Border Terrier Toby, and I think it made him more anxious. I have emailed a English trainer here to ask for her help in this.....but she hasn't replied. Can't stand these ignorant people!!!So we will approach a local lady who uses her dog for socialising and try to get over the possible language difficulty.

Think if they are not socialised as puppies it can be a problem. Our dog(a rescue)will play with some dogs we meet on our walks.some she will send off immediately and others she completely ignores. She is off lead unless other dogs are on theirs.Always had Labradors ln the past which were friendly to all other dogs.Good luck with Fada.
