Would i be right in assuming that most members on here live in Brittany?

The reason i ask is that no one seems to know about food delivery services in Normandy.Waitrose,Asda,Tesco and Iceland, not just cheaper but all ones favourites and unavailables here.

I think the vast majority on this forum are based in Brittany. I am one of the exceptions, living on the borders of Manche and Mayenne (though only 20 minutes drive from Dept 35). There will be a link somewhere on the forum to a members map....
I don't miss UK food enough to use a shopping service sadly, (though I do admit to getting the occasional beans delivery from neighbours and food parcels from my mother) after 13 years I guess I've got used to French substitutes and alternates.

After 22 yrs here it was great to find this service a couple of years ago,and then didn't have to rely on intermittent visits of friend here, there are many items the french can't substitute.7€ something for a small bottle of Lee & Perrins worcester sauce,to quote just one item.

E LeClerc/intermarche/Carrefour sell english goods in some of their stores-dearer than in England but that is to be expected,I buy the odd jar of lemon curd or tin of syrup.

Hyper U in Chateaubriant sell Worcester Sauce at 2 Euros and a bit, not a bad price, they also sell OXO cubes marmalade, jellies, etc etc. My son beings me bits, and when my OH goes over for a visit he'll bring heavy stuff like baked beans, but I can do without. I love to see the variety available in UK supermarkets but I think it makes for a lazier cook as it's all so very convenient.Wish there was a decent Indian take-a-Way near here though.....drool!!

bacon pg tips and peanut butter are the only things i miss.
now we have 'bacon by the box' delivery - its good and reasonable - in fact am just munching through a bacon sandwich as i write.
pg tips and peanut butter - yes you can get them here but they are literally a fraction of the price in costco so family bring it out (except whe airport staff confiscate it - see earier thread) Otherwise an happy with French stuff

Looked at the Worcester sauce again today, and it's leaped to Euros 7+, must be a World shortage coming. Get you Lee & Perrins while you can. Thanks for the tip Flakeypastry, I'm sure there are some who will read and look into it further.
