I am once again amazed at the state of the UK 'PC world'. How mad is it when a national newspaper can go through out-takes of a telly show and then display it, showing that the person involved, this time Clarkson, made a slip of the toungue reciting a childrens ryme which in my childhood (and I am about the same age) was used by kids in the playground on a daily basis. I was further surprised that I instantly remembered all the words of this ryme, having not said it for about 60 years! - Even more surprising was that my wife, (a mere child !, 14 years younger than me) had never heard the ryme in that form (and she comes from Manchester!)but had a totally different PC version. How life changed in the 1960s and 70s I totally agree that the 'N' word should not have been broadcast, but as Clarkson says, it wasn't, that is until the Mirror got hold of the out-takes that is. Every day I thank my god that I got out of the Uk to a country that does not mix religion and politics and whose citizens are deemed to be basically the most racially intolerant nation in Europe - Vive la France!! (Be fair the Bretons don't even like Parisiens!)

I can't imagine it will be that long before he will be. He seems to thrive on controversy. In all probability 'Top Gear' will follow his demise and I for one will be a little sad if it does. He's always been a prat (a persona he actively promotes) and I get fed up with the 'projects' he and the other two presenters undertake, acting like misbehaving schoolboys. The program lost it's way to an extent a while back and I really can't think of anyone sensible they could replace him with.

I shall be sorry if Top Gear does dissappear. To my mind it was a far better programme in the days before Clarkson who I find arrogant, pig ignorant, narrow minded and bias against anything that won't burn a set of tyres out pulling away from the traffic lights.
Perhaps if the BBC do sack the childish idiot we may get back the sensible, informative grounded programme that Top Gear used to be.

Oh come on JohnP, the whole point of the present Top Gear is that it is totally opposed to the old boring program, it is not supposed to be informative it is pure entertainment nothing else!
'The other side' tried to bring back the idea of informative TV with 'Fifth Gear' it was totally crap the presenters were without knowledge or any real presenting skills and it failed completely as was withdrawn. The American copy of Top Gear is also a flop, my American friends much prefer the British version.
The BBC will not get rid of Clarkson or the present program for a while, it makes huge profits as it is sold worldwide.
Recently there was a program about mororcycles, as a keen biker I thought it would be good, it was not, the presenter was 'wooden', and the content weak, he was supposed to have been restoring an old bike, but it was obviously being done by a proper restoring company and all he did was to effectively show what thay had done that week - rubbish!
As with many TV programs today, I like some and hate others, each to their own. Those I like I record with my Humax box and watch them at my leisure, blatting any adverts along the way!
