Some seem to think there is a pecking order depending on how long you've been here. The favourite is when someone is thinking of moving here, and asks for constructive advice, only to be lectured on how they haven't thought it through and that they'll never make it. The second is when someone asks a question on how to deal with something mundane - say reregistering the car etc - only to be told "Yawn yawn its all been said before" ...which of course it has but only if you were here then - for new people its pretty important.

As far as the re registering the car question goes, it would help if there was an up to date help section to which people could be directed. Most of the problems 'over there' are to do with either over zealous or non existent moderation.

People soon forget what it was like to be "new" in France and unsure how things work. When AI changed the format it seemed to lose a lot.

I replied to a Mutuelle question last year and had some nasty emails back about that.AI never replied to me when I messaged them about that.

I'm sure I must be missing something here, yummy Swiss chocolate, maybe its because 'if you can't beat it you best delete it. Sonnetpete nailed it, no rhyme or reason can be discerned.
Hang on to your hats and everything else, its gusting & blowing up a hooley here, north west 56.

We're in north west 56 too and I can confirm the hooley! The daft thing about the Swiss choccy thing was that I'd only said 'sweets were scarce when I was little and I loved Cadbury's Dairy Milk when I could get hold of it. But my mum was always saying 'wait til we go to switzerland (she was Swiss) and you taste REAL chocolate'. Then when I did she was SO disappointed cos I preferred what I'd got use to, i.e. the Cadbury's' Well, if someone can tell me what was contentious about that I'd be very interested - cos my post was deleted
