Being from that area and where my son still lives and works I have had a great interest in the flooding of the Somerset Levels. Yesterday I nearly fell off my chair laughing at the news that the army was going to help with some sandbags!! It got better when the army turned up - both of them!!! Yes they sent 2 men!!!!!!!!!! (and they forgot their wellies ) Apparently they came to assess the situation, haven't they got a bloody telly? there has been wall to wall prsentations on Sky and BBC for days. I don't know which unit they are from but for Gods sake the army cannot have to travel far they have bases in Taunton and all over Wiltshire, go and get a few off Salisbury Plain where they are wasting time and money shooting at rabbits or something Mind you they could have sent for the Navy but they would be no good they haven't got any boats now due to the cutbacks

25 sq miles of mostly farmland and working class homes won't score highly on camerons list. Had it been an area of Cheshire full of tory voters or one of the Queens residences underwater, the troops would have been in weeks ago.

I don't always agree with you, John, but I am 100% with you on this one!

I don't always agree with you, John, but I am 100% with you on this one! Troops falling over themselves to help now areas of Windsor are under threat of flooding. Meanwhile Smith, Pickles and Patterson are doing the only thing they are any good at,..... trying to shift blame and avoid responsibility for the disaster that is unfolding in Somerset. I rest my case!!
