I've just returned from the UK after a trip of 12 days ( to JBC's utter disgust!)Absolutely love going back, especially my trip to Kent via London Victoria.London has a buzz of excitement and the shops are fantastic. We went to Bluewater shopping centre which is quite amazing but kills the feet.I saw the Grandchildren who have gained in height and seem a lot more grown up,saw my children , who make me very welcome and totally spoil me. Did masses of Christmas shopping and dread checking the bank account! All in all it was a brilliant trip. Ryanair behaved itself and we arrived back,on time,to their stupid self congratulatory bugle fanfare.Dinard airport is like a throwback from the sixties, down at heel, and hopelessly inadequate even down to a lack of ticket machines for the carpark. From the airport was an hour and a half trip to home, and then..........................bliss!! A cloudless sky, millions of stars ( due to a lack of light pollution)wonderfull clear air with no traffic fumes, an elderly dog who bounced ( despite her 15+ years) when she saw me. A meal, cooking in the oven, and an appreciative JBC ( 12 days of self catering does wonders). I was so glad to be back in beautiful Brittany; it was lovely to go away, but as they say " there's no place like home!"
