How come I am logged in and everything is working ok, being able to participate on threads and creating new ones but when it comes to the chat room there is nowhere to type anything. There is no box asking for username or anything like there was on the old chat box that has just been removed. I just need one of you technically minded people to help me get it sorted beep beep

Easy one to answer, Ali needs to read this and she sets up the password for you. I know cos I had the same problem as you.

Hey, RR sent you a message yesterday ref the box.
The password that Ali gave you is to be put in the login box that opens when you click on profile in the lower right hand corner.
Not obvious i agree.
Smurfy the appearance of RR in the chat room was Ali testing his password.

Hi Lib thanks for your help but I do not have a profile button to click on. When I click on private chat room it opens up but nowhere on the page does it have a profile button other than the tool bar at the top between members and messages. At the bottom of where people are chatting I have: (WEDNESDAY NITE QUIZ WILL BE BACK AFTER THE SUMMER) below that I can see: (CLICK HERE TO OPEN THE CHAT BOX IN A SEPARATE WINDOW) I presume the profile button should be over on the right like it was when you had to log into the recently removed chat box. I have checked and double checked but can't see any profile button. Any suggestions RR

RR, you need to get the latest version of the forum, you appear to be seeing the old version. Well thats my guess. You may be able to do it merely by refreshing, press F5 (function key 5) or Fn + F5 if on some laptops, or even Crtl +F5 on some browsers. If this does not work clear out your browser cookies, you may have to clear down history and clear out the cache to make it work, OR , just remove the forum from your machine and then open it from fresh from the url of www.brittanywi.proboards.com, this last one don't always work. Bit vague but of course rectification has a few variables, i.e. your operating system, what your browser is, mac or pc, as to the best way to sort it. I hate cookies so kill them. ps if you clear all down make sure you have your passwords written down 'cos some of your sites may be opened by auto password fill in, and a cache clear can remove them from the chain, depends on the options allowed in your browser for cleaning cache.

Ta Ali,
I have been advised by an excellent source that the problem may be a 'flash blocker' set on RR's machine. Worth a look.
