Actually to Kindle!!!!! I have rarely had a good word to say about them, rambling instead about the smell and feel of a "proper" book. I still think you can't beat the real book experience but...I LOVE MY KINDLE. My Daughter, bless her, gave me the Kindle Paperwhite for my birthday, a very generous gift indeed. I absolutely adore it; the speed of the downloads is fantastic as is the ease of use and the compact size. The downside however is the temptation to spend loads of money on books.I can read the average paperback, uninterruped,in about 3 hours, so am spending a fortune. The Kindle is regestered in her name and with her bank account details,so I can order from Amazon.uk,cheaper than Amazon.fr,so every time I get a book my daughter gats an Email telling her what I have purchased! I top up her account so she is never out of pocket. So spending lots and reading lots but getting nothing much else done. Happy days.

I used to be like you until my OH bought me one last year,I passed it on to him this year when he bought me the Ipad.Like you I do seem to spend a fortune on books but I do reread mine every so often so its a good investment for me.OH has got on really well with it so much so he takes it with him if we go anywhere.

Kindles are brilliant Get rid of old novels - use them as 'firewood' (Removal men hate boxes of books ). I find it so useful to be able to change the font size especially, and they're not as heavy as a book.

"I find it so useful to be able to change the font size"........... Time to go to SpecSavers??
Also books by the thousand provide much better insulation than a kindle

Yes I know there are plenty of free books, but most of them are ancient so prefer to pay and pick what I really like.
