79 and left us today.
What a lovely gentle man he was and I am sure a lot of us 'grew up' with him.
My fondest memories of him were in the 'Good Life' I think that inspired me to make do and mend more and chuckle at the same time - do you remember him?

I was so sad to hear of his death. He was a great actor.

He was a terrific actor... he played such diverse rolls, and played them excellently.
'The Good Life' was one of the funniest programs I have ever watched, I loved it.
Rest Easy, Richard Briers.

The news presenter tonight said she felt like she should say "Sir" Richard Briers and was surprised that he was not. RIP RB.

Yes I shall miss him too, My earliest memories of him were in Marriage Lines where he co-starred with Prunella Scales then The Good Life of course but he was equally happy playing straight rolls too as he showed later in his long career. ............Sad day

While he gave me many a good laugh - Loved the Good Life and once into it, Ever decreasing circles had me glued as well.
Brilliant with comedy scripts, the man could handle serious drama and bring one to the point of tears,
Rest in peace dear person WWS
