...so come on, own up!
I've yet to find anyone who never, ever, buys frozen food. Hands up anyone without a freezer! What, not even a small *** section on your fridge?
I'm certain that the witches, collectively, will come up with all sorts of tips for freezing down their vegetable & fruit crops, the special offers that come along - half pig, whole lamb, etc., so i'll await these useful tips with interest.
Sometimes, though, you need to buy in branded frozen products, and there's all sorts of junk out there in the frozen food jungle. Beware!
In another thread, I mentioned "Picard" as a good shop for puff pastry. It's a good shop for lots of other things, too. In the trade, it is generally recognised as having the most draconian quality control of any of the major French firms with chains of shops, or home delivery fleets. A friend of mine learnt all about their attitude to QC when one of his trucks delivered a full load, 24 pallets, of Yule logs late in November. They started to unload, putting the probe thermometer into each pallet. They'd only shifted a third of the load, when the QC inspector ordered the fork-lift driver to put everything back into the trailer. He then wrote on the delivery note "goods to be carried at -18°C max / -22°C min. Last 4 pallets at -16° and -17°
- load rejected. Slight air circulation problem? Ill fitting rear door? Who knows, but it wasn't up to spec, so off it went!
They won't be the cheapest you can find, but they are very, very good.

Now, ladies. Should I blanch my beans before freezing?
