Well done Jenson perfect drives this weekend
just shows the advances in design strength in these cars. and how lucky that Fernando Alonso was to walk away from an accident like that.
Having a Lotus formula one car thrown at you at high speed is no joke.
I just hope that people who poo poo F1 as a sport realise that the advances in technology that these cars bring are all fed down to the road cars that they drive everyday making their cars safer!

No with the 2cv you must not roll the roof back while racing as a lotus could seriously dent the top of the door if not properly protected by that plastic roof the kers system in accessed by cutting a hole in the floor then put your feet through and then RUN like Fred Flintstone

The in-car-camera footages on that 'incident' were truly amazing. Low flying objects in the form of F1 cars! The drivers heads are so exposed though.
That must've cost a bit.
Rallying also does it's bit to bring on car design. Perhaps more so than F1 in my humble view.
Great race, certainly cleared the field for Mr Button. The world must be fed up with the British National Anthem after the olympics too.

Must agree about Rallying's contribution to road car technology being just as important, mainly because they more resemble the everyday vehicles on the road, but rallying seems to have fallen out of favour in the last couple of years.
not many "works" teams left in the WRC

At last some motorsport on the telly. Good race too.
Bloody Olympics are nearly finished but at least they are only on C4 not every other channel so you can watch them if interested or not in my case.
Only problem now is the footy has started to clog our screens, still the rugby will start soon - a proper mans sport not the pussy footballers who need A&E for a skinned knee.
