Today I start to put it all back together, although still waiting for tie rods, brake pipes etc. Anybody got a length of scaffold pipe for extending a torque wrench ? Pasha perhaps you could let me know which bits I can leave off

Oooh heck P. How have you got on today? Many bits left without homes yet? I just think its a miracle when people can do this sort of thing, I really do. The patience, logic and time that goes into it when it's not an everyday job is amazing. Hats off

Not a good day Ali, I made a few mistakes and had to redo a couple of things, I stupidly removed the cam locking tool before I should have, that resulted in a bloody finger and a couple of hours making a tool to reset the cam sprockets. Also having trouble with the cambelt tensioner, It keeps moving after I have set it, I can't figure out why. Good news is that electrolysis does work for de-rusting. I might have a day off today

I could do with one of those air wrenches Ali I couldn't relax this morning, the tensioner problem was bugging me so I re-fitted the old one, no problem, it lined up and stayed there.

Any bits left on the floor?? Loads I still have to put the suspension and brakes back together, then I have to do the other three wheels I'm also still waiting for some items to be delivered, the problem with a Rover is that for most non service parts the suppliers are limited. No chance to work on it whilst it's raining, I did plan to put the gazeebo over the car but with strong winds forecast that is probably not a good idea. Yes, it was my idea not to do the work in the garage .
