Before I posted about Jake's poo this thread had gone quiet....
It's perverse what triggers thoughts in your heads!

Nothing today..... spent the morning doing boring housework and the afternoon shopping.
BUT yesterday and the day before I did loads in the garden .... getting everything tidy and battened down for the winter. Cleared out the wood 'shed' ... reorganised it making very very much more room for the logs. Cleared out and tidied up the lean to shed which we keep all the garden machinery in but which had been used as a 'dumping ground' over recent weeks. Weeded and dug over half of the veg plot, will do the other half tomorrow, weather permitting. Made a good start in getting all the flower and shrub boarders mulched and dug up and moved a couple of shrubs which haven't done very well in their original places.

Know what you mean about getting things ready for winter, RD.
Today was watching squirrels burying chestnuts in the lawn, which I'd prefer not to have, because they don't always find them again, so I get trees where I don't want them...
Sent out the squirrel-scatterer, whose name is Jake...

Know what you mean about the squirrels burying chestnuts, Annon ... but in our case it is hazel nuts they bury. Between them and the rabbits, our 'lawn' is full of little holes, so that is another job to add to my list before the winter... will have to go round and fill them all up, that will take care of at least a whole day!!!

Been working in the garden all week, spent one day emptying the compost heap onto the veg beds ready to cover with black plastic and put them to bed for winter Thursday 4STIX cut the hedges, friday bought a load of heathers, I dont really like heathers but they looked bonny on the shelf in Lidls Yesterday I filled 4 hanging baskets with violas and 3 window troughs with cyclamin, then another 4 hanging trough thingys for round the decking with violas etc...............Oh and 4stix dug me a flower bed to edge the gravel drive cos I had a load of lavendar to move, so now all planted, just hope they survive. He`s back to work Monday so will have to carry on myself...............This garden malarkeys ard work
