Hehe, that reminds me when I was student in France, I didn't know it was Mothers' Day in the UK and missed it! My mum didn't speak to me for a while, but how was I to know?
We are using "Flowers by post" also in Jersey. The supermarkets - Waitrose, M and S, even Sainsburys have nothing much under £30.

I don't do flowers any more cos they are such a silly price, but my card went in the post today. Only forgot once but now thankfully I am getting reminders well in advance by way of emails from M&S!

It is NOT Mothers´Day, it IS Mothering Sunday!!!! I don´t know when it was re-named but I´ll bet the Americans have something to do with it. When I was little we used to go to Church and collect flowers from the altar for our Mum on Mothering Sunday!!

When I was little we used to go to Church and collect flowers from the altar for our Mum on Mothering Sunday!! My Dad used to blame the card companies - he used to insist it was they who changed the name as well as inventing Father's day (which he never wanted me to acknowledge) and Grandparents day!

While ya talking about sending flowers and cards and stuff-- Here are a few you might think twice about sending--- 1. So your daughter's a hooker, and it spoiled your day. Look at the bright side, it's really good pay. 2. My tire was thumping. I thought it was flat. When I looked at the tire... I noticed your cat. Sorry! 3. Heard your wife left you, How upset you must be. But don't fret about it... She moved in with me. 4. Looking back over the years that we've been together, I can't help but wonder? What the hell was I thinking? 5. Congratulations on your wedding day! Too bad no one likes your husband. 6. I must admit, you brought Religion into my life... I never believed in Hell till I met you. 7. When we were together, you always said you'd die for me. Now that we've broken up, I think it's time you kept your promise.
