"- A €1,500 fine for watching a film while driving, instead of €135; loss of three points instead of two."
So what are you supposed to do on a seemingly endless stretch of 130kph road with the cruise control set to a camera friendly 136.5??? read a book???

Just as you said that Bart, I opened a letter for Fli with a fine in it for speeding near Janze - 118 kph on a 110 kph road, and yes, he was driving I did comment at the time that I was sure I'd seen a flash .......

late thought ---- Funny how every year in uk --as soon as it snows-- the country grinds to a near halt ----- Here in Kirov -- heavy snow --sometimes minus 15/20 plus-- take car out of gear(never leave hand break on!--can freeze on) start the car --get out and shovel tons of snow off -- scrape the ice off the screens -- demist on max chat-- test brakes and steering -- and away we go -- sometimes -- even with winter snow tyres it can be fun -- (love front wheel drive motors) -- Just another day here lol--

I wonder how the police are going to impose the new rule whereby you are no supposed to have a Satnav warning of speed traps, apparently you are supposed to disarm,if that´s the right word, that part of it´s function, can´t see i myself. Also if you are very peed, are you going to remember to use the breathaliser,or be capable of?

They have started to enforce the satnav with fixed radar detector during the stop and check checks, you are also now breathilised as standard........ Mickael had a check yesterday, he did the breath test and got asked if he had any radar detecting equipment lol as if you are going to say oh yes!!! He passed all no fines.

Not meaning to have an air of holier than thou, but being a skinflint for unnecessary expense - I.E. - giving any government body money other than that we cannot avoid, I have for some years adopted the 'set the cruise control to the lawful limit and let the car get on with it. Can't count the times a police 'bike' has appeared from nowhere and was able to go 'phew' but without fear. Word of warning, got lectured by a gendarme because was driving Mrs WWS in her car but had left my license and insurance doc in my motor at Chez Nous. Implied that if the experience was repeated, he would have my bits for bookends along with a fine. (and probably wasting a good two hours of my time too, no doubt!) ....... which reminds me....where did I put 'em?
