Its started again up this coastal end. Torrential rain and hailstones and the wind at galeforce again since 8am. It lifted three metal scaffolding boards off some trestles in the garden during the night but I don't think it was half as bad as boxing day of 99. Apparently the ferry to St.Malo is docking at Roscoff this afternoon instead, they may have a long wait if this continues.

Only damage here was a ceonothus that needed righting and tying back up as it was horizontal - luckily the stem didn't snap.
Is fli home yet? Did he get diverted to Roscoff?

Is fli home yet? Did he get diverted to Roscoff? Nahh not landed yet, still going round n round on the channel. S'posed to land at Rosc at 13:30 but they're still only 1/2 way between St M and Rosc riding it out behind an island. Then he's got a 2 hr drive to deliver, 2.5 hrs unloading, and 1.5 hrs back to here so I suspect middle night

Golly, what a journey for him. Hope he has landed by now, and that he gets home at a reasonable hour ... he must be exhausted! :-*Hugs to both of you (fli and ali).

Great news was they did dock at 13:30, albeit Roscoff and not St Malo, removal all completed and the fli was home for 18.45. Do feel for him, he had a back tyre go on the trip from France to UK towards Caen on the autoroute on the way out, that got fixed but made him late for ferry, and it was the storm that made the incoming ferry late which meant he did get there in time to catch it. Both diddy Dave and the Fli delivered on time in full for secret client in Telford area with smiles all round xxx Paid for that positive on the Fr to UK crossing in that he was prisoner on the ferry for many hours today tho, again due to inclement weather. The AIS web site went down at around 11am so it appeared that the Armorique was stuck in one place when it wasn't, they stuck to the coastline for shelter and were promptly spotted by Em. This episode is now named the 'fli spy' coz there were a few of us watching progress of the Armorique today He arrived back to a very warm house, newly cleaned, dusted, fresh bedding, two very excited dogs and a good chicken dinner followed by cheese course and Brittany Ferries Baileys The winds were horrific all over Brittany last night and today, blowing up to 35 knots which put them into the gale bracket/force 7 - 8 at times but its suggested that the storm has blown itself out now. I think we all had our fair share of wind, rain, hail and you name it thrown at us and thankfully everybody is ok and no serious damage done. Hellfire is you do have a good memory - yes 1999 our house lost an eighth of its roof in the storms.

Glad he is home safe and well! So why was the ship shown as heading towards Plymouth afterwards when it was supposed to be in St Malo? It wouldn't have had any passengers! I think we missed out on the 'fun' here as all we had was a windy night, why it is being called a hurricane beats me but then I guess we were lucky.

Yes MM it sailed back empty of passengers and went back to plymouth ready to get BF scheduals/timetable back on track (and time to clear all that sick up)
