Absol delighted today to see at least 1/2 dozen Redwings lining up on the high wires. Part of the Thrush family they; the Redwings (Thrush), common Thrushes and Bramblings (Finch fam) and Blackbirds (also a Thrush) all swoop on the waste apples from this season lying on the ground over-winter. Please don't sweep away your wasted and grounded apples n pears. Here's a great link from the RSPB for winter feeding: www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/features/christmas.aspxHave you seen birds to report?

Oooh that's lucky - we have only seen Redwings during really harsh winter weather - last year both they and Fieldfares arrived and ate all the apples left in the orchard which was great to watch. Saw a number of Lapwings heading northwards as we were driving up from the south last Sunday.
