What a lovely picture, Panj. Isn't it lovely doing autumn jobs in this lovely weather? Today, amongst other thing, I've picked up more walnuts and dried them in the sun. I've cut the grass, weeded the asparagus patch and put the grass cuttings on it as a mulch. Tomorrow we shall go to the beach with a picnic and I shall go for a swim - what a treat on October 2nd!

Stunning photo Reminds me so much of this lovely and wel known poem: What is this life if full of care We have no time to stand and stare? No time to stand beneath the boughs And stare as long as sheep, or cows. No time to see, when woods we pass, Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass. No time to see, in broad daylight, Streams full of stars, like skies at night. No time to turn at Beauty's glance, And watch her feet, how they can dance. No time to wait till her mouth can Enrich that smile her eyes began. A poor life this, if full of care, We have no time to stand and stare. William Henry Davies 1871 - 1940

Lovely poem, Ali - my mum used to quote bits of that to me when I was meeting myself coming back the other way working to keep two stroppy teenagers in the lap of luxury (lol), studying with the Open University to try to get a better job and doing voluntary work to augment what I was learning with the OU.....I must admit it she didn't always choose the best moment, bless, but she meant well at the time!
I am sooo grateful that I do have time to enjoy life now, and it is in part due to her as she left me some money when she passed away. Shame she can't see me laid back as I am now, though

I was chatting to an acquaintance of mine today at the Ai show, she works too many long hours here and we've discussed it many times.
She said to me today that recently finally she'd had a wake up call. Was driving down the A84, fell asleep at the wheel and taking the side of the car down the crash barrier woke her up in time to stop.
I think we all, whatever walk of life we tread here, should find time to stop and stare.
This is why I too adore pandj's photo so much. It is a beauty of reflection.

Rushing around like a blue arse fly at the moment so the only way I am noticing/enjoying the weather is my hosepiping duty in the late afternoon - good old September, always a dryzabone month....water butts empty, filled up with tap water again.... ;D
