Hurricane Irene has just struck New York. But why are all Hurricanes Women or named after a Woman

Because they are unpredictable,like us women,and can you imagine a hurricane called Bert or Fred?? ;D

I was sure that hurricanes are named after people of both sexes but couldn't remember any male names ... so I googled it, and there are loads named after men ;D
