Well the bags and secataurs are to be packed again for another visit to the fabulous Monet Gardens in Giverny in September.
In September nasturtiums carpet the Grande Allée, asters, dahlias, cosmos, rudbeckias...
WHAT WE DO
We drive up (approx 4 hrs/ish from Brittany) to arrive by around 2pm - 3pm on day 1 and head for Monets Gardens themselves. We finish and retire to a local hotel (30 or 40 euros per room/ occ 1-4) and dine locally .......
Day 2 we return to the village of Giverny and see all of the other gardens and revisit the Monet garden if wished.
If you would like to come along you can either meet on departure from where I am in '35' and convoy, or meet at the gardens on day 1.
This isn't a 'professional tour' ! Its each to their own, but if you would like to visit say 'eye'.
You will gain a fab insight to Monet, you will see his original painting studio and several paintings as well as the fabulous gardens and you will experience true Monet, his life, his goals and ambitions and those of his close impressionist friends. You will enter his house and see the way he lived, you'll walk through the village, the church and several of the famous Impressionist meeting places.
It is truly one of the best places in France that I have ever visited.
WHAT I WOULD PROVIDE
An itinerary - where we'll be and when
Hotel details and a link for you to book in the same hotel.
Directions to the gardens.
As much help as I can.
The dates? Not sure as yet. But if you are interested in coming along please post the dates that YOU CANNOT MAKE.
Color is my day-long obsession, joy and torment.
