That................, with Clem..........., after we dropped at Dinard a precious piece of daughter, we visited Cora and I have bought an Ice-cream maker! Its got a freezy bit in it that has to go into the freezer for 18-24hrs and then u make ice-cream parently. Its one of these: www.philips.co.uk/c/kitchen-appliances/20-w-hr2304_70/prd/Any good??

What a good girl I am, I've actually read the instruction booklet! Put the disk thing in the freezer last night so should be making ice-cream later today Question ............... I only ever seem to find 'granulated' sugar here and not 'caster' sugar, books says I have to put the gran sugar in a blender to caster it first - do you ice-cream makers out there do that? I've even weighed eggs this morning..... Omm and Letty's are the perfect weight (Orpingtons), Goose, Maverick and Spex eggs are too big ;D ;D ;D ;D

I buy caster sugar - look for sucre en poudre fine or tres fine - (en poudre is just granulated). I've never put an egg in ice cream, but then without full fat milk I can't make custard, and all that faffing for ice cream is too much for me! Who are Goose and Maverick? Changed their names?

Thanks for the caster tip - will look for that - never noticed it before!
Errrr well yes, Goose was formerly Pardon, but she sounds so much like a goose she's become 'Goose'. Maverick was Dolly ;D ;D ;D
