Has anyone played either the 18 or 9 hole courses at Golf des Ormes near Dol de Bretagne/St Malo? If so, what were your impressions of the course(s)?
Just disinterred me clubs after a decade in the garage, brushed off the cobwebs & mouse droppings, and fancy seeing if I can still remember which end of the stick to use.

Got friends who have. Used to play cricket there and, on tournament weekends, some of the lads would take their clubs and seemed to have a good time. There is also a driving range to get you into the swing of things again. When my shoulder's better, I might try and get a set of clubs - been thinking about it for a while. Used to play as a kid - lived in the middle of a golf course - but was never as good as my younger brother who played for Jamaica schoolboys and toured California, Florida, Mexico etc. Put me off a bit - as well as the snootiness of golf clubs then.
I always remember the first time I played with my dad, and scored lots more than him, so thought I'd won!

Thanks both for the input. I'm thinking driving range first (it really is ten years since I've played) then start with 9 holes, see if me feet can bear it, and work my way up to 18.
I used to play off handicap 18 and use the championship course at Maison Blanche near Geneva, which was long and also in the foothills of the Jura. Extremely challenging with lots of water, and very up and down. Er Indoors told me to stop playing so often when I was inbetween jobs, coz my calves were starting to look like Arnie Schwarzenegger's! Funny, that...

Used to play when I was a kiddy and then I discovered the epitome of sports, crazy golf. No way back. Still, do like thwacking the covers off the driving range balls though! And I have some crappy clubs

Fli when do you get time to go and play golf? You're always away! Crazy golf is fun but swimming and/or hanging around swanky golf clubs (the clubhouse not the metal swatting things) is not my scene, sorry Ali. I don't have the clothes for it these days anyway, although Philippa and I are working on that one as revenge. ;D
