That could be useful for people who don't have breakdown cover although I would imagine that most people do these days. We've got Direct Line breakdown cover for our 2 UK cars which covers us in the UK and abroad. We've also got breakdown cover on the car we leave in France which is now French registered thanks to Trev P's help a couple of years ago. The breakdown cover is provided by our French Insurers, Axa. The insurance premium is very reasonable and I had to call out the breakdown people when the car immobilised itself for the 20th time in Mur De Bretagne. We'd had this problem with the car in the UK for the 19 other times and nobody could sort it out. The nice man who came to Mur diagnosed the problem, a dodgy earth connection, the car has been fine ever since.

What's this breakdown service thingy then?? One of my big worries here-- is breaking down in the middle of Nowhere!! and we got a real ton of that!! Half the boot is full of tools and basic replacement bits and bobs-- But luckily to date--touch wood-- not had to use any--
