What a daft bit of legislation! While I can see an argument for privacy, there isn't any any more and with a certain reluctance I'm prepared to accept that. Be aware that (for advertising) we are not talking about ads or no ads but random ads or targeted ads and importantly if we move towards more random adverts there will be more rather than fewer of them. For what it's worth I'd rather sacrifice a bit of spurious privacy and improve my surfing experience.
