I really thought I c*cked up. On visit to YUK just b4 Christmas I 'impulse bought' a Samsung flat LCD TV for the kitchen. I wanted a small white one........ Told the man I wanted freesat coz would've hooked it up to sat dish and dropped cable into kitchen, so he showed me a 47cm screen one that looks v cute. It said on the pakit 50 free channels, so I thought I'd got what I wanted. Any road up, returned to France with my impulse purchase only to find that its not Freesat, it's Freeview (free to air - aerial) Cussed quite a bit and phoned Comet man who said that nobody makes a small Freesat TV, and the one I have is indeed Free to air (aerial version). Cussed a bit more and asked if Fli could take it back for me for a refund, Comet man said yes. Any road up, put everything back into boxes (cussing) and left it awaiting return. Not got round to returning it so decided we would run it off an old Sky box we have. Not got round to doing that either so today bunged the aerial lead (normal french aerial) into back of it to see what might happen. The aerial didn't work with previous TV, only had about 3 fuzzy channels through it. OMG we have loads of free to air French channels!!!!! All running off an ancient aerial on the roof that we thought didn't work. The picure is fantastic and we are thrilled !!! Whoop whoop - result

Oh that's good news, now you can watch/listen to some french telly when you are cooking. I tend to put it on in the folorn hope it will impart some new French knowledge into my poor old brain so listen to game shows/quizzes which are on about the time I am cooking dinner. We've got a French digibox now and the new digital channels are amazing after the 3 or 4 fuzzy old channels we could get before off the aerial.

Great news, in my opinion there are plenty of good programes on French tv. There is also plenty of rubbish on English tv.

Its not bad, first thing I watched was about a lot of naked pole dancers. Then a concert by Sting singing in English. I thought French TV was rubbish
