Twelve million children returned to school this week after the summer break - but not for long. Secondary teachers' union Snes-FSU has called a strike for Monday, affecting collèges and lycées around France. The other teaching unions will join the industrial action on Tuesday, September 7. This second date coincides with a bigger, national day of industry-wide walkouts that will bring disruption to many public services. Further details of the extent of the strike will be known on Monday.

That is really naughty! my friends tell me that their children often seem to find classes unavailable even when the teachers are not on strike
