No, as long as they have a role model of both sexes in their lives. That isn't strictly true, as a child only needs to have a role model of his or her own gender in order to flourish.

I'm not too sure about that. I'd have thought a child would need a role model of both sexes really, more from a social aspect?

If a child has 2 dads or 2 mums they may have a school teacher or uncle or aunt who they can look up to

If there's only a Mum, how can you say "Wait till your Father gets home"? If there are two Mums, same thing, and if either one or two Dads how can you say " Behave or I'll tell your Mum"

I think to offer a child the best start in life they should be brought up in a normal family unit, sadly in many cases this does not happen for many reasons. I am sure same sex couples can provide a loving caring relationship with a child but to me it is not a natural situation. As for same sex marriage I am totally against it, Civil partnership is fine but same sex marriage is an insult to the sanctity of marriage and whatever religion it is based on. I am fed up with what is a very small minority group trying to force an acceptance of their lifestyle on the rest of us. I have to wholeheartedly agree with all of this.

I'm not sure if judith is expressing opinion, or something else.... And if it's not 'strictly' true, does that mean it's partially true?
Troll. Distinguish between God and the Bible. The one is not the other. Now re-read what you've said... I accept your apology.....
BC. You make a good point. But I don't think it clinches the argument!
Elkay, I agree with you.

I have no problem with with two people of the same sex living together or entering into a civil partnership, if they want to 'marry', fine as long as it is in a registry office, but NOT in a Church.
However, when it comes to adopting children, then I am sorry but I cannot go along with it at all. Children of today already have a great deal of pressure of them, and they can be very cruel, bullying, sadly, is still rife. I do not believe that a child with two Dads or two Mums would not be ridiculed and/or bullied at school.
Well, those are my thoughts, anyway.............
