I thought the idea was a british-style lunch, rather than French? I love really hearty soup (chicken, pumpkin, chestnut, beetroot all good right now) with warm bread, preferably focaccia. Followed by a simple salad with some cheese, and definately a fruit pie or crumble to finish! Wine at lunch time just sends me straight to sleep. You must at least offer perfectly brewed English tea.

my lunch was pushed back to this week due to staff training, as the weather is getting colder I have decided on a hot main dish. I am going to cook salmon fillet in filo pastry, served on a bed of champ which is a traditional Irish potato dish and steamed green vegetables. I will serve butter lemon sauce over the salmon.
For dessert I am doing a choice of mint chocolate cheesecake or an apple crumble with custard.
Pouilly fume wine will be offered , proper coffee for afters, As we only have an hour I don't think I have time for any other courses. Thanks for all your recipe suggestions I look forward to trying some of them.
