Fruit, nothing, or nearly nothing a few cherries but nothing else, no walnuts on the tree either, so the tree is getting a good pruning and is being whacked repeatedly with a base ball bat. grapes grew but were small and sour, I need to seriuosly prune the vine.
Pots, go some pots in early out of a bag of eating pots that had sprouted, success, then put my seed pots in, blight, lifted a few very small pots.
Beans, stringy,
Caulis did well
Peas, Roz eats them before they reach the kitchen, mange tout a success.
Carrots, superb, got two crops, pulled the second early because I wanted some that looked good trimmed and served whole.
Sprouts, Its a mix out there good strong plants but a lot have opened up, I'm making soup from all these ones and all those big leaves on the top.
Turnips, I must have planted my first lot to early and to close together, they were tough, second crop done properly and I have some huge turnips growing.
I posted a pic earlier in the year of a pumpkin, huge red thing, well that was it, a huge plant with one pupkin.
Melons, well they grew, but no sweetness.
Toms all but one plant got blight, so eight plants in, and a handfull of toms.
Cabbages are doing well of all types.
Purple broccoli, is being eaten by caterpillers, I'm leaving them alone, there not eating anything else.
Courgettes, Yellow did very well, green a bit hit and miss, the round ones were as hard as rock.
Onions, success, I've put two beds in for next year, but I've noticed a couple have started to sprout so they will need protection. My garlics in as well. Leeks are great but I assume I got a mixed load, some are big some not so, and some have produced a bulb, like a giant spring onion.
Aubergines, loved growing these, just three plants this year, going to do so many more next year, I've moved one plant into the house, its going strong, I'm still getting fruit from the other two but I'm picking them very small.
This year has been my first real gardening and am happy with how I did, I just need to be better at labeling things.
My first attempt a few years ago was a disaster as I did to much and couldnt keep on top of it, this year its all small beds where I can reach the middle from all sides.
well done Elkay. I've had some lk special chillis ripen to red.
