I'm with you Sooty. as a biker myself it has annoyed me previously when every episode showed them on different bikes and almost no footage of the countryside they were riding through. This new series has put that right (except they should be riding Beemers!!!!)
Having seen the sceanery I want to go on my bike to Norway!!!!

In the Netherlands tonight - bit flat for biking?
Like sooty and meldrew, I loved seeing the roads and countryside from a bikers point of view - wouldn't mind a bit of Norway!

Loved Austria !! Was great to see a little of Zel am See ( www.zellamsee-kaprun.com/en ) and I reckon Grossglockner is a must. Really fancy a trip over to Austria now! Next they're in the Italien Alpes, been skiing there and it is awesome....

Having seen last night's program I really want to ride that Alpine road, what a buzz that must be.
Very annoyed that one of the guys was riding in shirt sleeves though - what does he think he is - a French Gendarme?!!!!
Ride like that in the UK and the Police will pull you over and give you a lecture (well deserved) about road safety.
Have read though that the Gendarmes have been told to put their jackets on when riding now even on hottest summer days, makes sense.

Oh dear I thought you were all talking about bicycles, and thought "but of course the Netherlands is the ideal country for cycling" as the whole population were practically born on a bike.
I think after Meldrew's post about wearing a jacket you are talking motorbikes now though! ;D

No Madam Moorhen, only the French think of cycling, and for that you have to have non-protective very clingy Lycra gear. Particularly unattractive on men over the age of about 25. Now you have started me on another pet hate - groups of french cyclists hogging the road holding up traffic without a care in the world. They simply do not understand or care that if they cycled in single file we may like them a bit better, especially if they pedalled occasionally and stopped free-wheeling!!!!
