How much lower does the exchange rate have to drop before may and co wake up and do something? while this latest shower of useless, incompetent, self opinionated, lying, worthless bunch of wasters run round like headless chickens, the £ is going down the toilet. Anyone living abroad is seeing their income cut by 30% since the beginning of the year. Why? because the money markets hate uncertainty.
The idiots who took The UK out of Europe spouting lies and misinformation have all run away, no doubt keeping their salaries and rich pension pots. The country needs leadership, direction and a strong policy to move forward. There is no sign of any of this, after over 3 months there is not even a date to trigger article 50 yet alone a timetable for withdrawl. I despise politicians with my very being but this latest bunch of clowns even more so. I would love to cut their income by 30%, perhaps that would sharpen their focus.

Now at £1.11. hammond(chancellor of the exchequer) has made a statement that Britain is in for a rough ride as a result of Brexit.
Do you think somebody told him or did he manage to work that out all by himself! God help us.

Love the rant, JohnP, at least you've got something to say, and are prepared to say it....
For my own part I choose, yes choose, to take a balanced view, not motivated by self-interest, and rejoice in the knowledge that UK exporters will gain from it, cos yes, business creates jobs and some people really need those jobs...
For every winner there is a loser. There's nothing new under the sun. That someone else wins instead of us is inevitable, from time to time. I don't hate other people for winning, nor castigate those who've brought about my loss. 'Cos I'm inclined to believe that they have a wider, far-reaching view than I do. A view that I don't understand. To which I'm not privy. A view which seeks to reconcile all of the considerations, economic, sociological and political, which I am not required to consider by virtue of office. Nor as a bystander. I've never seen fit to tell others how to do their job. 'Cos I don't know how to do their job...
In these points we differ, JohnP. May your views endure. And mine.

Hang on hang on a sec !!! Only a few years ago the £ and € were close to parity. We've been here before and that was without the BEXIT
Money markets have always fluctuated, in favour, out of favour, c'est comme ca
If the UK is that good it will attract investors and GBP will rise, if it's poo it won't.... c'est comme ca
AND WHY HAS A CAT WITH A COLLAR ON DECIDED TO LIVE WITH ME TONIGHT !

A stunning and lucid post, ma chere Ali! You never cease to amaze me!
Exchange rates fluctuate. End of. It doesn't mean that the fluctuations spell doom. Lib has also invited us to accept such fluctuations with equanimity, transient as they are. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose...
And for every loser there is a winner. Seems fair enough to me..... ps: Ali, the cat was sent to you by God. He could've sent it somewhere else. Feel good about being chosen.
