Thanks, though I'm not actually Breton lol! BTW, UPDATE! We just found somewhere today, which just so happens to be absolutely Perfect for us!! Nominal rent, nice house, good amount of land, and also to boot, it's within walking distance to the center of the village! We are so chuffed with it! Only thing is we can't move in straight away, as there have been squatters in there,. So the owners have to do a bit of sorting out before we get the keys, but it's on now! Woohoo!!!! And thank you very much for your kind assistance everyone;)

bisdu , @ali and @sabjac, so are we!! Phew! What a roller coaster ride it's been. I was told (just yesterday in fact), that along with the Napoleonic laws which govern inheritance, that the state will indeed give aid to (young) people when purchasing a new build, but give no support when purchasing an old stone house. Just another reason there are more new builds popping up all over, and the stone built houses remain empty and turn gradually into ruins. Funny then that there are so many listed buildings which have special requirements, and limitations as far as renovating them, or improving them is concerned. Sad state of affairs it is. And still plenty of folks who are looking for something, but find nothing, even though there is an abundance of properties that are potentially available but for the state rules! C'est Dang!

There is also; that if you have grown up in a dirty stone house with earth floors, mice, generally muck everywhere and freezing cold in winter then you would want something modern which is better insulated cheaper to run with up to date electrics etc etc.

Can't blame anyone for wanting the basics.

From what I've heard your house is not in a good condition. You should hire a company to put it back together so that it's livable. I personally believe that Home Expert Aberdeen flooring might really change what your house will look like and make it the place you've always imagined to possess. All the best to you and your little Breton house

How sad that you pull up a two year old post, to try and sell your wares.
