Just seen a trailer for a tv programme
It is a drama - and the gist of it is that UKIP win the general election.
I am feeling that this is not pc with the UK general election looming.
Many people are unsure how they will cast their vote; surely this drama, if it is unfavourable to UKIP, could be considered predudicial and if it is favourable, could be considered propaganda.
Or do you think tv has no influence?

The trailer is brief and gives no indication of the slant that it will have.

It is obviously a fictional drama Until it has been broadcast it is difficult to say what if any influence it could have. However the politicians will use every means at their disposal to secure their seats. When they break the rules there will be some mudslinging but nothing will be done. The findings of the Chillcot enquiry on the Iraq war has already been delayed again till after the election without good reason, clearly it contains material damaging to one of the main parties. And how strange that no one will chair the enquiry into child abuse. There is some very high level corruption in play and you can bet your life they will get away from it. This is not a case of one rotten apple in the barrel, it is a barrel full of rotten apples.

The politicians in this country get more and more arrogant. BE

Take all your replies on board but the question was whether it is a good idea to broadcast a programme that will publicise (for good or bad - who knows) one political party in the run up to an election?

I'm sure there is an embargo of things vaguely political on the tv a certain amount of time prior to an election...to avoid bias and possible swaying of voters. I know they stop broadcasting things like Question Time, Have I Got News For You etc. It probably is timed to coincide with parliament being dissolved....

I just like freedom of speech so I'm on the fence. Won't be watching it anyway coz can't stand the noise and nonsense of staged polytiks.
