Rabies vaccinations done in the UK can be valid for two or three years depending on the vaccination used by the vet. Don't forget though that an annual booster for a dog ( distemper heptatitis parvo and lepto PI )without the rabies vaccination is generally only marginally cheaper for not including the rabies bit.

Flipping good point Kanisha !! Parvo is dreadful. I always get my two the combination during the 'rabies' visit and sure it does save the extra consultation....

As our two got older and there was no real need for the rabies jab, we decided the less chemicals pumped into them the better for them. There is a school of thought which says they don't need annual boosters, and there is a blood test which proves they are still covered, unfortunately all kennels here require the proof of yearly jabs but some in the UK are more enlightened ,and settle for the blood test result.

Having seen a fair number of titre test results for leptospirosis vaccination in particular I wouldn't consider either blood testing or vaccination to be proof of protection.
