Wouldn't be without mine, use it all the time. Cooked the gammon for Christmas in it, and always do all my slow cooked meats such as braising steak.

just a cheap from Aldi, none of them are very dear just get the size that suits your family. Mine is oval as i find it suits larger cuts of meat. Everything in mine from Brisket to beef bourgeon (sp). Also done full chicken from frozen to. All cheaper cuts of meat do very well, brisket in a bit of red wine a favourite. Does good set pudding too. Just pop stuff in a leave it no messing.

I use mine for stews, braising stead, soups, and anything that is best done slowly and for a long time. Don't as me what make it is though, inherited it and it doesn't have a brand name on it!

Yus and use it all of the time ........... casseroles (stews) currys, chicken you name it - is brill and one of the most used things in the kitchen. As said they dont need to be expensive.
