Warning, do not go to a motor museum near Christmas - dire c

This is a (non) serious warning to all petrol heads (yes that means you Ali!).
Do not go to the Sparkford Motor Museum near Wincanton where you will drool over a wonderful collection of cars (and a few bikes).

If you do and it is near Christmas you may fall into the dreadful trap that I did and see the car of my dreams - the Jaguar XK8 coupé - add to that, if you visit with your petrol head son (who has just bought his Porche 911, to add to his collection of a split screen VW camper, and his racing Mini) who says "Dad you can pick up those for nothing now! - in fact I know where there is one for sale right now, we can look at it on the way home!".

OMG we did and I was totally smitten, discussed it with wife overnight, and she agreed that it was probably a better buy than the classic Norton Commando I had been promising myself as I already have 3 motos already!

So Sunday afternoon after a short spin in the car I was totally hooked and spent all the money my children thought they would inherit on the Beast!

I keep telling myself that a V8 4 litre auto will not be too thirsty and that surely someone will insure me?!!!!

I am now beyond help, but hope that this message will save a few of you from my awful position!1

Ah! in my haste to get back to lovely France I parked it in my son's garage thinking I could get the photies off the net where it was advertised, but they were too quick for me and have taken them down so here is a picture off the web of an American one, mine is same colour but has a different front grille.Attachment Deleted

Oh I won't be driving it, just polishing it!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am kidding but I have taken out a breakdown insurance as they are not known to be the worlds most reliable car - usual problem - electronics!!!!!!!!!!
