IMO it is utter crap and total sh&te of the first degree just a money making exploitation tax for the stupid phone in show ...................... o.k so one or two singers have been exposed ..... but AAAGGGGHHHH utter rubbish .......... bring back proper Saturday night entertainment that's not dumbed down garbage Taxi.................. I'll get my coat As Far as Big Brother and Jungle goes, I couldn't agree more but that is my personal taste. With regard to Britain's got Talent and X Factor, these sort of shows have been going for years..... Opportunity Knocks, Search for a Star, New Faces, all similar formats except in those days you had to vote by postcard. Many of the stars we enjoy watching today owe their careers to one of these shows, If you want high quality entertainment, these people need a platform to launch their career and get them noticed whether it be a show like BGT or a season at Butlins. Of course it is not everyone's cup of tea but let's face it, it is not as though there are loads of high quality programmes waiting in the wings to burst onto our screens in January when these shows are finished. And as for Brucie, come on... he is a British icon, entertaining for over 60 years. Ok so he is corny but he does Strictly because he loves it, not for the money, I think the country owes him that little indulgance.

John you're right - the likes of opp knocks new faces etc did launch many talented acts - the difference was they were all different - comedians, singers, magicians etc etc and not simply anyone that thinks they can sing cos they have a karaoke night ( I hate karaoke to ) and those shows were not to the detriment of other shows only being on one night a week for an hour.
As for Brucie I couldn't stand him 40 years ago with his annoying catch phrases AAAGGGGGGHHHHHH now his eyesight (along with his hair) has gone - his auto-cue reading ability is chronic and more wooden than spot the dog :-)
is that my coat, thanks :-)

So as I started this and have been away in Uk for most of December on business (Thank God I'm back!)I can now break the news that i know who won!!!
As I said in my original posting it was pretty obvious that Sam would win as the competition was so weak. Ok now she has won does anyone think it is time to stop the photos of her bawling during the show, it gets very boring!!
Also, please please, now she has some money can she be persuaded to hire a personal designer person to give her a proper makeover and get her out of the 'slob look' in which she insisted on being filmed during rehearsals etc. Throw away the shell suit and the rubber band pony tail please!
Still give her a year in the limelight and then will never be heard of again! Look what happened to Subo - 3rd Christmas album - same old carols - what a waste.
