My belief is that it should be madatory for ALL bikers to wear pink fluorescent suits from head to toe so that simply they can't be missed Oh and a miners lamp on their helmets. Ali posted this I just like Pink And they still wont see us!

Think you might be right Barwood. There are too many car drivers unaware of bikers. I reckon the driving test should contain a ride out on the roads on bikes to get an appreciation!

I've never ridden a motorbike, but my sons have done so. At the risk of sounding boring I still always do the old 'Think once, think twice think Bike' at awkward junctions - shows my age, I think!

Its not just motorbikes who get missed. We do a lot of cycling have reflectives and very strong lights.I got run of my bike in the uk and the driver said...our lights were to strong they dazzled him!!! The people opposite him in another car said he was on the phone. Not watching what he did.It makes no differences what you wear with some people they just dont bother to look.I was very lucky he didnt drive over me as the bike (handmade) was under the car.

Woopeeee I am famous with my own header, and i haven't even been pinked (for a while) I am really hacked off cos I bought 2 armbands 2 days before they cancelled the law, so sod it i will wear them anyway just to annoy off my mates at my French bike club who were actively campaigning against them!!!!! As I long term biker I think anything which helps car drivers to see a bike is good, nearly all responsible bikers in the Uk wear yellow jackets all the time, over here I always wear one in bad weather, but my normal jacket is bright anyway (Blue for boys not pink Barty, my bike has 2 headlamps on full beam, one normally, but in addition I have 2 separate driving lights on permanently - you wont miss me in your driving mirror especially at night ! I am such a goody goody, in addition to the reflective patches I also bought 8 breathalysers when they were first on sale, two for each of our cars and 2 for each bike - in accordance with the Law, which also seems to be likely to be repealed - also have a bulb kit for the car but the garage says I cannot fit these myself, so i comply with the law if stopped, if I have a duff bulb i will ask the nice Gendarme if he could fit them for me!!

Just a thought on Bartyb's comment, twin headlights on a bike - well at least most of them work, unlike most of the old farmers cars round here who never turn their lights on (saving electric I suspect!!) and when they do lots have only 1 working lamp. Gendarmes seem to ignore them, far too busy stopping people doing 1/2 a Km per hour over the speed limit I suppose!1
