A recent survey was Carried out to find what people thought was The Best Sound In The World.
A Cork Popping came out top.
Does the Forum differ from this pole?
What do the Members think is their "Best Sound In The World" ?

Quiet
I remember sitting down with Lady S after the kids had been fed, watered, and put to bed.
Cup of tea, radio on very softly; and that very peaceful quiet that makes the sound of comfort and that all is well.

Sitting drifting in a wooden clinker-built dinghy a mile or two off shore. The creaking of the boat as it moves with the swell, gurgling of water, wavelets slapping on the hull. Who cares if the fish aren't biting?

The best sound in the world (if you have a pub as I did for 7 years) is also the worst sound i.e. the last orders bell ringing. For the punters it’s the worst, but for the landlord and bar staff it’s the best sound in the world. And strangely my cry of “Right we’ve had your money, now lets be having you, have you no homes to go to?” Cheerful goodnight calls never got any negative responses
