Camera CD software is often next to useless and is usually a filing system for saving your photo's in a structured manner. If you want some simple easy to use photo-editing software to add some life and even a few abstract features then I would strongly recommend Snapseed its available for phones, tablets and PC's easy to use and straightforward. Remember the only limit on photo software is your own imagination use for for enhancement with some basic level correction or you can get really arty

Gimp is good but like the other big but paid for programs a steep learning curve, but it is free and there are lots of video tutorials on the net. Best to start with a basic editor and 'album' maker. Snapseed is good.
ps other than a crop or two i don't bother changing photos
