Thanks ali. There seems to be a lot of talk about the lack of women in top jobs at the moment, what with the BBC apology etc. At least France has Christine Lagarde, Germany has Merkel and the USA Hilary Clinton - all highly intelligent and articulate women. I guess Kate Middleton might step up to the plate for the UK, but not quite in the same way! Perhaps we should be looking for a female England boss to replace all the useless men who can't seem to get it right. Maybe a woman could knock the team into better shape. Karren Brady for me!

Cameron is just spouting a directive that is coming from the EU which calls for a quota of 30% of top jobs to be held by women.
Before I say any more let me just reiterate that I have no problem with equality for women throughout the workplace but by merit, not because it is politically correct. This quota crap diminishes the achievement, devalues the job and puts the wrong people in the wrong jobs for the wrong reasons.
Any person who is worth their salt will want to gain their success in life by merit and hard work, not to massage the statistics and make some waste of space politician's agenda look better.
