Yes, cos autumn 2004 here = nothing, autumn 2005 = about 7, the next year about 50 and the year after about 500(!!) and so it went on until 1,859 in autumn 2010. I have the note pinned to the pinboard beside my desk here. ;D Yeah I'm sad and it's all I can do to not go and count all the bagged up walnuts.......I'm having to stop myself....... Got an idea to speed up your nuttyness - why not count how many is in one bag and weigh it then you'll have an av and can start knitting instead.......... ;D

Sadly I won't have time to collect chestnuts this year as they are already dropping. But they take so long to peel after boiling it is very labour intensive. Luckily I have a few prepped ones left in the freezer.
Maybe I'll find some down in the Basque country so can bring them back with me - and have a car full of maggots! ;D

Please may I report, proudly, my crop of nuts for 2011.
I have attached a photograph for you all to peruse and admire.
Lady S suggests I enquire if any member knows of a dwarf conker league, or if it is garden etiquette to string the conkers and attach them to the hands of Garden Gnomes.
Mmm perhaps should have asked ElfyX.......
