What about bottling them, Simpson? You could also make peach flans, 'Pickle' them in Kirsch or brandy..... or even in a nice sweet desert wine....

I've just been given the same, Simson. My lovely neighbour gave me some last year and the year before. The first year I put them in brandy. They were quite nice but I couldn't decide really what to do with them! Last year I froze some and made them into crumble (not very tasty) but I also made jam, and it was surprisingly scrummy. So, this lot I was given today will definitely be made into jam!

I've made peach chutney before with the white peaches but this year I am just eating what I can and the rest can be munched by the coypus/whatever! Too much fruit overall to worry about. And I've got some whopping big ones on the tree in the veg patch (been irrigated) although the prettier looking ones are the tiny fruit from the peach on the beach (very dry there).

Can't recommend bottling too highly!!! I took a lot of convincing, but has been a god-send all year for quick and yummy desserts

I agree about bottling, but have only tried pears so far, and my neighbour came to hold my hand last year while I did them. They were really delicious.
Ali - yes please to bottled peach recipe
Troll - are you OK for apples? The walnuts are beginning to ripen and fall so it must soon be time for a cuppa and a natter!
