They were very rarely funny Mad Moorhen - unless you find grown men repeating swear words a lot funny.
Shame, because despite what lib has said, I thought Peter Cook was a comic genius who also bankrolled "Private Eye" for many years and initiated the Amnesty International concerts. He also established one of Britain's first comedy clubs in Soho which promoted the likes of Lenny Bruce, who couldn't get a gig anywhere else in the UK.
Derek and Clive was a money making exercise at the end of his career and is not how he should be remembered.
Better to watch, or listen to "That was the week, that was", "Beyond the Fringe" and "Secret Policeman's Ball".
Try this for a taste of his humour -
And he was also a fanatical Tottenham Hotspur fan!

Tried, but the sound quality is not good, and have to keep turning my speakers up then the audience noise is deafening whilst can't hear Pete and Dud very well. What I did hear I didn't find that funny but seeing them smoking made me smile! Sounds like a recording of an American programme/film where the sound is appalling, one moment whispering and you turn the volume up to try to make out what they are saying, the next blasting out music which nearly bursts your eardrums! I like cuddly Dudley though.

Humour of all genre's is a serious thing. I like to think of it as one of our greatest natural resources, which must be preserved at all cost. I also like nonsense. It wakes up the brain cells. James Thurber

Thought it was only old farts who had heard of Derek and Clive - I never found them funny but think I was too young..... ;D Well, I lived a very sheltered life ........ (probably had something to do with the fact I was not a Peter Cook and Dudly Moor fan in the first place......)
